On the road to Albuquerque....PART 1

Goodbye Little Rock! Today we left for our new, temporary, home in Albuquerque, NM. Neal has Combat Search and Rescue Training for the next 4 months at Kirtland AFB. We are currently on the road, a 14 hour drive to be exact.

This week has been pretty crazy for sure! Last weekend, we were able to go back home to Missouri one last time. Then, we were FINALLY able to get all of our moving business in order at the beginning of the week, no thanks to the base offices. The movers came on Thursday, which is always fun because while they are going through and packing up all of your stuff you can't do anything but sit and watch. Bailey had a great day! We took him to doggie daycare for the day and he came back so tired- and slobbery! Friday, was spent deep cleaning and packing everything into the vehicles and finishing up the minor details.

Friday night we were able to go out to dinner one last time with all of our close friends. While moving is not too bad, exciting really, leaving our friends, new and old, is the worst. Over the past few years, Neal and I have made some of the best friends who have stuck with us from Pensacola, shared good and bad times, were even in our wedding. This will be the first time, since leaving home, that we will have a completely new slate and not know anyone (except BBW for a few weeks in ABQ!). We will miss all of you guys so much - thank you for everything!

This morning, we got up super early- actually, hardly slept thanks to our rude upstairs ex-neighbors (more on that later). We finished packing up, turned in our keys, and were on the road by 8:30 am. We are currently somewhere in Oklahoma- I believe we just went through Oklahoma City since there really hasn't been anything very exciting on this trip thus far, except for all the Indian casinos! We plan on stopping in Amarillo, TX for the night (and yes, I have had George Straight music in my head all day) and then be in ABQ by noon.

-----later today----

Here are some pictures from along the way (not sure what order they are in since I'm not on a computer!).

Btw.. Remember the rude upstairs neighbors? It has been a constant battle with them since we moved in..especially with the BBQ grill they insisted on using to burn leaves in right outside our window. So, I gave that grill a little "nudge" as we were leaving. I'm usually not mean whatsoever, but I hated staring at the grill everyday out our window while they kept us up every night! That is what the picture of me running away is from!

The other pictures are from the rest of the first part of our journey, so yes, we made it to Amarillo for the evening! It's been good so far! Updates to come soon! Next stop, Albuquerque!
